May Favorites

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) May has been a great month for me. Something about those summer vibes. Even though it rained here almost the entire month, there were still some really beautiful days. I am looking forward to what the rest of the summer has in store for me. Here are a few the things I was really loving for the last month!

Fashion

High Waisted Adjustable Bikini Bottom

I ordered this bottom online from American Eagle a few weeks ago. I have been looking for a high waisted black bottom for a long time and was very excited to find this. I really like the adjustable element. I even got my best friend Amanda to go out and buy a pair after she saw mine :)

Accessories

New Cartilage Earring

After my last final I wanted to do something spontaneous. I thought about all of my options and very quickly landed on finally getting my cartilage pierced. I left my apartment, got in the car, and went straight to Claire's. Fifteen minutes later I am walking out with my brand new piercing. I already had my cartilage done on my left side but I got this one lower down on my ear. I have a few friends who have it there and just thought it was so cute. I love it so far. It is still healing but I think it is going to be so cute with another earring :)

Beauty

Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless in 112 Natural Ivory

I had been hearing about this foundation nonstop lately and when Kathleen even mentioned it on her channel, I knew I needed to give it a chance. I was very pleasantly surprised by it when I finally did. The coverage of this foundation is a good medium without feeling as if it is. It is light on the skin and feels very breathable. The claim of giving a matte affect is not false either. It does add a matte look to your skin, which I appreciate, though in the summer I tend to go for more of a dewy look with me skin. I think this will be my perfect fall/winter foundation. My favorite element of it is that as you blend it with your brush it almost starts to feel more like a power and dries to easily. I don't have to let it dry before I put of my powder. It is such a cool formula. For any of you with really dry skin, I'd be sure to use a moisturizer or a primer before using it, but I think it would work for you even. Plus another bonus in this line is that is offers shades that are very light. Sometimes when you are really pale it is hard to find a good shade, that isn't too dark. This range is considerate of that.

Urban Decay Half Baked Eyeshadow

Half Baked has always been my favorite Urban Decay eyeshadow. It is in my Naked 2 palette, which I purchased a very long time ago, and it is in my Naked palette. It is my most used shade from the two, but in the past month it has been my most used shade from all of my palettes. My favorite Youtuber, Zoe Sugg, has been rocking a lot of gold eyeshadow and it has just rubbed off on me. It is such a pretty look in the summer time :) She even did a great tutorial on a gold eye and coral lip look. You should head to her channel and watch it if you haven't yet. This gold is perfect for any eye color and will make them stand out, guaranteed.

Entertainment

Castle

My cousin Ellie has recommended Castle to me for years. I love Law & Order and Bones so it just seemed like a show I should have been watching. Well this month I decided I wanted to start but it isn't on Netflix or Hulu. I checked how much the first season was on iTunes. It ended up being $15 and so I bought it, figuring that if I didn't like it then it wasn't to much money wasted. It turned out to be a great purchase. I am now on season 5 in just a few weeks. School has been done so I've been taking some down time. It's a great show. Funny, witty, quick. The chemistry between Beckett and Castle is just phenomenal too.

Girl Online by Zoe Sugg

I have had this book since it was released but I just hadn't gotten around to reading it. I finally started it this month just before I went on vacation to Washington DC. I brought it with me and finished it on the trip. It is such a cute story and a great read. I am really looking forward to the second book coming out later this year. I love Zoe Sugg, she was the first person who really hooked me on Youtube a few years ago. I think she is immensely talented and that shows in her book. The paperback is coming out later this year as well, so if you don't want to spend the money on the hard cover then you could wait for that :)

Amber Fillerup's Instagram

Amber is a Youtuber & Blogger who has a wonderful talent with braids. She has the cutest little family and I follow her on Instagram. She travels the world with her husband and little boy. She posts so many gorgeous pictures of her adventures. Her Instagram isn't the only thing worth checking out though, head over to her channel too. She has amazing hair tutorials!

The May list of favorites isn't very extensive but that's just how it goes some months. I have been very busy with school ending and then going on vacation to Washington DC. I fell behind on here a bit but I will be catching up all summer long. I hope that if you graduated in May that you got to celebrate your accomplishments. You should be proud! If summer has started for you then I hope you are enjoying the sun shine and summertime :)

Unconditionally

May Favorites

Hello Lovelies :) I'm Jordan Nicole. It seems like the past month has had a ton of ups and downs, but generally its just been full of changes. Its had its rough points but so many wonderful ones as well. Overall, the month of May has brought a lot of new things into my life, and with them a lot of new favorites. These are the things that topped my list this month :)

Fashion

Striped Floral Top

My best friend Amanda found out that there was a store named Francesca's near my apartment and insisted that I would simply adore it. I was skeptical because I find most things that are recommended to me are overly hyped and don't live up to it. In this case I was wrong. As we walked up outside the outfit on the mannequin was already enough for me to declare my love but the longer I walked through the better and better it got. I didn't have a lot of money but I did have enough to buy this top (^) that I fell in love with at first sight. Its now my favorite things in my closet.

Flower Outfit

I go to Target fairly regular to explore the new items in the clothing department (what can I say? I love their dresses!). So one day when I was wasting time before a lunch date with one of my best girl friends I decided to go to Target. I made a marvelous discovery. I knew I was going to love it when I saw the floral pattern but then I noticed that the skirt was quite obviously long too. I am the type of girl who adores any skirt or dress that hits beneath your knee, but isn't maxi (maxi skirts and dresses so not look good on me at all!). So I tried it on and even wearing it at my waist the skirt hit just below me knee. Paired with the matching crop top I just couldn’t resist. It is now one of my favorite outfits. People continuously think that my stomach is a belt when I wear it but it is a two-piece top and skirt, not a dress. I take it as a complement and figure my skin tone just goes excessively well with the outfit :)

Accessories

Satchel

So a few months ago I was walking through Target with my mother when I spotted this satchel. I had been dying to buy a satchel for over a year now and I was so excited to see one that I loved somewhere with such good deals. Unfortunately when I looked at the price tag it was $40. Now I know that isn’t much in the big picture but I just couldn’t bring myself to buy it. So I walked away from it very disappointed. I saw it a few more times when I went to Target and was sad each time. Then one day when I was killing time before lunch with a friend I couldn’t help but go look at it and by some miracle it was on sale for $25. There was only one left and it seemed to good to be true. I of course purchased it immediately. I have never been big on carrying a purse but I have carried this satchel with me every day since I bought it. It’s the perfect size to carry everything I need and a book or two, which is my main requirement for a purse :)

Name Necklace

I bought this with some of my Christmas money back in December from a Hallmark store. It was $7. Obviously that means it isn't the best quality and as I have worn it every day it was begun to change colors a bit. In order to slow this process I make sure to take it off when I shower and sleep. I am a huge fan of Sex and the City and one of my fondest memories of the show is the Carrie necklace. I was thrilled to find a name necklace that was a reasonable price so I could test if I liked it. It is a wonderful piece that can add so much to an outfit, a little touch of you. I have researched some nicer name necklaces on Etsy (unlike Hallmark, Etsy can customize any name!) and am planning on investing in a sterling silver one soon!

Essie Nail Polish/Phone Case

This nail polish is Essie's Bikini So Teeny. It is my absolute favorite polish color I've ever purchased, as well as the most complimented. It is a gorgeous color for the spring and summer time. It brightens up any look and matches almost every outfit in my closet. I'm head over heels in love :)
I got this new case because I got a new iPhone 5S to replace my old 4S (whose case was also monogrammed and from Etsy but it was red & black which seemed to dark. I wanted to brighten up my life.). I went to Etsy to order my new one and after looking at cases for a bit I decided that I should just search for one in my favorite colors. I typed in "coral and mint monogrammed iPhone 5S case" and this is one of the first ones to come up. The colors & patterns are so pretty, plus the font is cute too!

Beauty

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss

I had been dying to get my hands on some of Tanya Burr’s products since she released them in January. Unfortunately I am not lucky enough to live in England where I could go to a Superdrug and buy them. I finally looked them up online and with the information that the shipping was free I went for it. I really wanted a few nail polishes but for a reason I am unaware of they will not ship it to the US. I settled for only getting some lip-glosses and even then the one I wanted most was sold out! The two I ended up getting (Champagne Toast & Vampire Kiss) came alarmingly fast considering the shipping was free and from England! I opened them the second I got home and was instantly in love. I cannot rave about them enough. The brush is so soft and you will want to just sit and run it on your lips all day. You wont have to though because the color lasts great! It’s a great consistency as well. I love Tanya’s YouTube channel and am so glad she released these products. I hope she branches out even more.

Covergirl Bombshell Mascara

This mascara was a spur of the moment purchase and turned out to be a great use of my money. I just picked it up when I walked past the make-up because I was close to needing a new one and it seemed pretty great. It is. I have already used an entire one and had to purchase a new one. I have never used a whole mascara in the decade I have been wearing make-up. I have long and thick eyelashes anyways but with this on multiple people have asked if I am wearing fake lashes.

Face Wash System

For years I didn't wash my face because when I was fourteen I was on Accutane. The effects of it have started to ware off more and more over the years, which has led to the need to start washing my face on a regular basis. I had a hard time adjusting and would forget on so many days when I started but then I found a morning/night system. The twice-daily routine has made it much easier for me to remember. I even use the make-up removing pads that go with the set. It works well.

Food

Red Velvet

Something about the idea of red velvet to me has always seemed mature and elegant. Maybe it is because it isn’t the typical flavor you would find at a children’s birthday. I am not sure. But now that I am older I have become entranced by the whole idea of it. I am now an adult and I want to be classy. So I have started ordering it in any form possible. When my aunt made cupcakes and there were red velvet ones I went for them first. When I went to the cheesecake factory I ordered the red velvet, when I got ice cream with one of my best friends late at night because she was upset I got Ben & Jerry’s red velvet ice cream. I am now in love with it in all of its forms.

Kind Bars

I saw this box and instantly wanted to try the product. It looked so yummy and the flavor seemed great so I went for it. They turned out to be amazing! I don't often find foods that I really want to eat and I actually look forward to my daily Kind bar. I purchase more than one box every week now. They are just so yummy and a great healthy snack or quick breakfast you can eat on the go.

Keurig

I finally made the investment in a Keurig because at my apartment making pots of coffee was just so annoying for only me that I was having to spend a ton of money on coffee out. It is probably the best thing I’ve ever spent money on. I use it every single day, if not more, and haven’t gone out for coffee for reasons other than to socialize with my friends. I am in love and buy something new to try in it every week. I think that if you are a coffee drinker, or a tea drinker, it is worth the money.

Entertainment

Dancing with the Stars

Admittedly, I wasn’t even going to watch this season but on about week 7 I decided that if it was available on demand I was going to catch up and watch. It was all there so I decided to spend the evening in and watch. The talent was so amazing that I finished every episode there was in 24 hours. That’s a lot of Dancing With The Stars! This season’s level of talent was extraordinary.  My personal favorites were the gold medal winning Olympic pair Meryl Davis & Charlie White. I think that Charlie is the cutest thing ever and I want to marry him. Meryl made Max, who I have gone up and down on liking, an amazing man. Their partnership was just inspiring to watch.
***Spoiler Alert***
I watched the finale the other night and was on the edge of my seat the whole time! It was a great episode to wrap up a great season. I am in no way embarrassed by this opinion. And it all ended in the exact way I wanted, minus Charlie not getting to the final/not getting runner up. Meryl & Max won!!!!!!! I could write a whole post about the multitude of feelings this brings into my life, but lets just say I may have screamed and gotten a little teary eyed… So yeah. There ya go.

Human by Christina Perri

The song that has been playing on repeat this month is Human by Christina Perri. She has had multiple other songs that I loved, including Jar Of Hearts, so when I found this song I was happy to hear her voice again. It is just such a powerful message and really inspires me.

Those were my favorite fashion, accessories, beauty, food, and entertainment things in the month of May. I am always finding new things to fall in love with so it'll be a monthly update system. I am easily excited so I'll be sure to narrow it down to the things I loved over longer periods of time, not just for a day! :) I hope your May was wonderful! June is now here so go out there and find your new favorite things and experiences!
