Enchanted

Taylor Swift & Her Perfumes

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) I am a big Taylor Swift fan. Say what you want but that's my opinion. This fact meant that when she released Wonderstruck in 2011 I was really eager to get a bottle. I saved up and purchased a 3.4 fl oz bottle that came in a gift set including a lotion and a miniature bottle. I adored the fragrance and came to use the entire bottle. I used it so often that it became the scent that all of my family and friends identified with me :) I have since purchased another bottle of Wonderstruck and added her two other releases to my collection. Due to the fact that I use one of these three perfumes every day and they each happen to be Taylor Swift perfumes I figured I would do a little review/how I wear them post.

Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift

Fragrance Notes: Raspberry, Dewberry, Green Tea, Freesia, Apple Blossom, Sweet Vanilla, Honeysuckle, White Hibiscus, Golden Amber, Musk, Sandalwood & Peach.

Packaging: This purple bottle went perfectly with the Speak Now era that this perfume was released for. The album cover was purple and the song Enchanted, which the name was taken from, has a very magical quality that is perfectly suited for purple. The top has Taylor's signature 13 incorporated and the three charms (a star, bird and cage) add a lot of charm (haha, get it!) to the bottle.

This perfume was Swift's first release and remains the one that I wear the most on a daily basis. It is the most recognized by the people in my life. Some have grown so attached to it as my scent that they get upset when someone else has it! It is the most musky scent of the three and I think that it is most suited for everyday wear. That is just my personal opinion and the way that I choose to wear it though, it is a lovely scent that can also be used for a night out due to the musky quality. I wear it for varying occasions, from a morning shopping to a night out at the bars. It is versatile and a wonderful addition to anyones collection. It has been out for so long that it is now carried in most stores that sell perfume. You can get a large (3.4 fl oz) bottle for a great deal. If you are looking to start with any of the three I would recommend starting with Wonderstruck, after all it is where the collection began :)

Wonderstruck Enchanted by Taylor Swift

Fragrance Notes: Wild Berries, Pink Poppy, Passion Fruit, Peony, Sugar-Glazed Champaca Petals, White Freesia, White Musk, Hypnotic Vanilla & Blonde Woods.

Packaging: Like Wonderstruck I feel that this packaging really reflects well on the song it is named after and the artist who created it. The packaging is the same in many ways but it is a red coloring (maybe a hint at the next album name??) and the charms are different (bird, crystal, feather and flower).

Wonderstruck Enchanted was the follow up release to Wonderstruck. The advertising campaign had made commercials for the two a connected storyline (after all who better to tell a story than Taylor Swift) and the packaging for the two is very similar. I actually purchased this bottle after Swift had released her third perfume; I had purchased the third one and wanted to complete my collection. It is the sweetest scent of the three which makes it the hardest for me to wear. Sweeter toned perfumes can easily give me a headache so I have to be careful wearing them. However I have found myself reaching for Wonderstruck Enchanted more often in recent weeks, finding it to suit the summer season and the looks I have been wearing perfectly. This scent is the perfect girly compliment to the first and if you enjoy a sweet or florally toned perfume then this is the pick for you. I often find myself reaching for it when the outfit I am wearing that day is extra girly or a very floral pattern :)

Taylor by Taylor Swift

Fragrance Notes: Litchi, Tangerine, Magnolia Petals, Peony, Vanilla Orchid, Hortensia, Sandalwood, Apricot, Woody Tones & Cashmere Musk.

Packaging: Going along with the elegant feel of the scent, this bottle is the most sleek of the three. The pearl detail give it that classy feel that I associate with this one so much. The whole bottle and pattern feel like they really reflect Taylor's personality. Its is no surprise to me that this is the scent she chose to name after herself.

Taylor is the third release of the three. It came at a time when Swift had transitioned out of her Speak Now phase and into her Red one. She had new hair and an updated style that consisted mainly of vintage, poised and classically elegant looks. This knowledge of her personal style really reflects on the scent she cultivated here. Taylor is the most fresh scent of the collection and it has an elegant air to it. The pearl detailing on the bottle really reflects how I feel when I smell it. I love this scent, it might even be my favorite of the three but I find it hard to wear with just any look. On a day where I am wearing jeans and a t-shirt I automatically reach for Wonderstruck, with Taylor I feel that I need to be wearing a bit more of a classy or elegant look. If I am feeling especially vintage or poised that day there is no question about picking this scent. Disclaimer: I have a large amount of dresses and vintage looks in my wardrobe so I often associate this smell with my outfit of the day, leading to a high usage. Of course my restriction of this scent is only my personal opinion on how it should be worn. You may not smell this perfume and feel like you need to be a little more dressy when you wear it. That is just how I wear it :) I recently wore it to a wedding (I did a blog post on the day) and thought it was perfect with the look I went for.

These are not the only perfumes that I own but they are the most reached for in the morning as I get ready. I think that they are all lovely and between the three I have one for every occasion. If you liked this look at a product I use a lot (the review and usage) let me know in the comments and I hope that you go out and try one (or all!) or these scents on yourself :)

***I purchased all of the products mentioned in this post with my own money. None of it was given to me :)

Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me

My Style Icons: Elizabeth Taylor

Hello Lovlies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) On this third week of my style icons I have decided to pick the timeless Elizabeth Taylor. With her ever present grace and poise she remains a true hollywood legend and, in my opinion, a true inspiration.

Elizabeth wasn't only gorgeous, she was also a true humanitarian. She was one of the first people to really bring attention to AIDS, even founding the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. She always used the fame she had acquired to try and bring awareness to causes that were important to her.

My name actually comes from one of Elizabeths biggest films, Giant. It is one of my fathers all time favorites. I am not named after her character though. My daddy loved the name Jordan from one of the male characters in the film. One of my favorite television show characters of all time, Charlotte York from Sex & The City, even named her dog after Elizabeth Taylor. She also was inspired by her to convert to Judaism to be with the man she loved :) Those are just some fun facts about her and here are some pretty pictures :)

Red Lip, Full Skirt, Empire Waistline, Wide Cut V-Neck, Patterns, Head Scarf, Gloves, Headpieces, Bold Eyebrows, Statement Jewelry, Collars, Classy Cleavage.

There she is! My third style icon pick :) I was a little late with this one because I couldn't decide what order I wanted to do for the rest of the list. I have it all planned out now though, so everything should run smoothly for the next few! I just adore Elizabeth Taylor and think she had a little something to offer every one. If you don't know much about her life I would highly recommend looking up some books written about it :) As always, let me know who your style icons are in the comments!
