I'm With You

Summer Makeup Haul

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) So I have been forming quite the collection of new makeup this summer. I have my largest intake of money during the summer so it is really the time when I get to splurge on things like makeup. I managed to get a lot of things that were on my wishlist and I'm pretty thrilled with all of my purchases. I figured I would show y'all what I got and maybe see if there are any things that I should do a full review on. I figured for this post, instead of reviewing the items (that could take all day) I would just say why I wanted them in the first place.

Beauty

Marc Jacobs Honey Perfume

I have been looking into getting a nicer perfume for a while now. I love perfume but have always sort of gravitated toward the cheaper end. I smelled this and knew that this was the (slightly) more expensive perfume I wanted to start with.

Vera Wang Hippie Princess Perfume

I have always said that I am a bit of a hippie. I think that I am naturally drawn to a lot of things that could be compared to a hippie or boho vibe. I have used the original Vera Wang Princess perfume since I was in high school and just finished a bottle. I have smelled all of the variations over the years but this is the only one that pulled me in. It's the perfect summer scent for me.

Face

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Captivating

I have been slowly building my makeup collection over the past year or so and at the beginning of the summer I noticed a distinct gap in my collection. I have practically no blushes. I decided that one of the ones I needed to purchase was the perfect summer, peace/orange shade. Captivating checked that box and more.

Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Baby Love

Another blush tone that I decided I needed was a more neutral, nude tone. This blush has a bit of mauve vibe but it is the neutral shade I was looking for that also suits my skin tone. I knew a neutral shade would open up my options for eye and lip looks.

Urband Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Light Warm

The reason behind wanting this was pretty simple... EVERYONE and their mother raves about it one Youtube. I don't buy into every product that is raved about online but there comes a point when you are listening to your 15th beauty guru saying you need something and you think "well I must need that". I also mainly stick to concealer in terms of coverage and so I'm always looking for good ones.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Bronzers were another area that I was seriously lacking in. The only bronzer in my collection was NARS Laguna, which is an excellent product but it can only do so much. My best friend highly recommended this and said it would work well for me. I take her recommendations to heart.

Eyes

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

I always thought of this palette as being for blue eyes, which I am not blessed with. I thought it was gorgeous but figured that there was no point in purchasing it (just like I shouldn't have purchased the Naked 2 palette, but that is another story). Then one day my cousins best friend, who works at Ulta, said that it would go perfect with my red hair. I had never heard this before. Apparently it is a thing though because I got told two more times when I was shopping in Sephora that I should purchase it. That was all of the convincing I needed.

Tarte Tartelette Palette

I have a lot of palettes at this point but there was thing I was pretty largely missing in that category, a good matte collection. I looked at a few of the strictly matte palette options but none of them felt right besides the Tarte one. That big mirror didn't hurt anything either.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

I love my Too Faced Neutral Eyes Palette so much that I knew I wanted another Too Faced one. Kathleen Lights, aka one of my favorite Youtubers, very highly recommends this one so I decided to check it out. I liked the color selection in the original better than the semi-sweet one so I went with it.

Colourpop & Kathleen Lights Where The Light Is Quad

As I just said, Kathleen is one of my favorite Youtubers. When I found out that she did an eyeshadow collaboration with Colourpop I knew that I would love it. She is drawn to the same colors that I am so I knew they would be warm and glowy.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Eyeliner in Purple

This is my holy grail eyeliner. I thought the purple would be pretty with my Naked 3 palette and with my brown eyes.

Maybelline Brow Drama in Auburn

I am pretty attached to my Benefit Gimmie Brow but I figured that if there was a drugstore alternative then I should probably check it out. Plus they only have two shades in the Benefit line and Maybelline was offering an Auburn option, which happens to be my hair color.

Lips

Colourpop Lippie Sticks

As with the eyeshadow quad, I had to purchase this lipstick (Lumiere) because it was a collaboration with Kathleen. That's about the extent of my thought process.

I know this might seem like a bit of a splurge but I have been obtaining these things over the last few months. I didn't purchase it all on one trip. If there are any items that you would like to see a full review of let me know in the comments :)

May Favorites

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) May has been a great month for me. Something about those summer vibes. Even though it rained here almost the entire month, there were still some really beautiful days. I am looking forward to what the rest of the summer has in store for me. Here are a few the things I was really loving for the last month!

Fashion

High Waisted Adjustable Bikini Bottom

I ordered this bottom online from American Eagle a few weeks ago. I have been looking for a high waisted black bottom for a long time and was very excited to find this. I really like the adjustable element. I even got my best friend Amanda to go out and buy a pair after she saw mine :)

Accessories

New Cartilage Earring

After my last final I wanted to do something spontaneous. I thought about all of my options and very quickly landed on finally getting my cartilage pierced. I left my apartment, got in the car, and went straight to Claire's. Fifteen minutes later I am walking out with my brand new piercing. I already had my cartilage done on my left side but I got this one lower down on my ear. I have a few friends who have it there and just thought it was so cute. I love it so far. It is still healing but I think it is going to be so cute with another earring :)

Beauty

Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless in 112 Natural Ivory

I had been hearing about this foundation nonstop lately and when Kathleen even mentioned it on her channel, I knew I needed to give it a chance. I was very pleasantly surprised by it when I finally did. The coverage of this foundation is a good medium without feeling as if it is. It is light on the skin and feels very breathable. The claim of giving a matte affect is not false either. It does add a matte look to your skin, which I appreciate, though in the summer I tend to go for more of a dewy look with me skin. I think this will be my perfect fall/winter foundation. My favorite element of it is that as you blend it with your brush it almost starts to feel more like a power and dries to easily. I don't have to let it dry before I put of my powder. It is such a cool formula. For any of you with really dry skin, I'd be sure to use a moisturizer or a primer before using it, but I think it would work for you even. Plus another bonus in this line is that is offers shades that are very light. Sometimes when you are really pale it is hard to find a good shade, that isn't too dark. This range is considerate of that.

Urban Decay Half Baked Eyeshadow

Half Baked has always been my favorite Urban Decay eyeshadow. It is in my Naked 2 palette, which I purchased a very long time ago, and it is in my Naked palette. It is my most used shade from the two, but in the past month it has been my most used shade from all of my palettes. My favorite Youtuber, Zoe Sugg, has been rocking a lot of gold eyeshadow and it has just rubbed off on me. It is such a pretty look in the summer time :) She even did a great tutorial on a gold eye and coral lip look. You should head to her channel and watch it if you haven't yet. This gold is perfect for any eye color and will make them stand out, guaranteed.

Entertainment

Castle

My cousin Ellie has recommended Castle to me for years. I love Law & Order and Bones so it just seemed like a show I should have been watching. Well this month I decided I wanted to start but it isn't on Netflix or Hulu. I checked how much the first season was on iTunes. It ended up being $15 and so I bought it, figuring that if I didn't like it then it wasn't to much money wasted. It turned out to be a great purchase. I am now on season 5 in just a few weeks. School has been done so I've been taking some down time. It's a great show. Funny, witty, quick. The chemistry between Beckett and Castle is just phenomenal too.

Girl Online by Zoe Sugg

I have had this book since it was released but I just hadn't gotten around to reading it. I finally started it this month just before I went on vacation to Washington DC. I brought it with me and finished it on the trip. It is such a cute story and a great read. I am really looking forward to the second book coming out later this year. I love Zoe Sugg, she was the first person who really hooked me on Youtube a few years ago. I think she is immensely talented and that shows in her book. The paperback is coming out later this year as well, so if you don't want to spend the money on the hard cover then you could wait for that :)

Amber Fillerup's Instagram

Amber is a Youtuber & Blogger who has a wonderful talent with braids. She has the cutest little family and I follow her on Instagram. She travels the world with her husband and little boy. She posts so many gorgeous pictures of her adventures. Her Instagram isn't the only thing worth checking out though, head over to her channel too. She has amazing hair tutorials!

The May list of favorites isn't very extensive but that's just how it goes some months. I have been very busy with school ending and then going on vacation to Washington DC. I fell behind on here a bit but I will be catching up all summer long. I hope that if you graduated in May that you got to celebrate your accomplishments. You should be proud! If summer has started for you then I hope you are enjoying the sun shine and summertime :)

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara Review

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) When it comes to makeup my favorite product has to be mascara. In all of the years I have been wearing makeup, it is the only step in my makeup routine that I hate to skip. If I could only put one thing on in the morning, mascara is what I would grab. Seeing as mascara is my favorite product, I tend to try out a lot of them. I only recently started trying the more expensive mascaras. I used to only true the drug store options.

I love Urban Decay so I really wanted to try out their mascara. I knew that I thought the brush looked amazing from all of the times that I opened the tester at Ulta and Sephora, but I wanted to see how it compared to some of my favorites. I only bought the sample size, just in case I hated it, but I am happy to report that I will definitely be buying the full size when my sample is gone.

The brush on this mascara makes it give such a cool effect on the lashes. It does not add an excessive amount of volume (like Too Faced Better Than Sex) or a ton of length (like Benefit Roller Lash). It is actually a part of its own category in my opinion. I have heard a lot of people on Youtube say that they aren't fans of this mascara, and I can understand where they are coming from, but I don't agree. I think that it gives me the perfect option for a natural, no makeup makeup day.

The thing is that it isn't the blackest formula and it doesn't transform your natural lashes into looking like you are wearing false lashes. It simply gives you extremely fluttery and natural looking lashes. I love this effect. I think that my eyelashes look so gorgeous fluttery, and this mascara is the ultimate fluttery option. It makes them look long and wispy, but without overpowering your eyes with black.

I have never used anything from the drug store that replicates this mascara, and none of my higher end ones do it either. I think that this is the perfect choice if you are just starting with makeup and you don't want to have a harsh transition from not wearing makeup to wearing it. It is a nice, natural and subtle way to start wearing mascara. And for those of you that have been wearing makeup for years but have never found the perfect mascara for those natural makeup days, this is it. You will enhance your lashes without looking to done up. I love throwing this on when I am just have a laid back kind of day. I think it makes my lashes look so pretty.

Urban Decay's Perversion Mascara is available online at urbandecay.com and online & in stores at Ulta and Sephora.

It Ain't Cool To Be Crazy About You

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Review

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) It is day two of palette review week! On what better to review on day 2 than Urban Decay's Naked 2 palette? I have had this palette for over a year now and it has not received nearly as much love as it should have in that time. I bought myself this palette for Christmas 2013. I was so excited to get it, as it was my first indulgent makeup purchase. I had never even been to an Ulta when I went to buy it. I was torn for weeks between getting the original Naked palette or the second one. In the end I went with the second one (largely because it was impossible to find a Naked palette at the time). I like this palette but there are some downfalls for me personally. It is obviously amazing, as all Urban Decay eyeshadows are. It is just that for my personal use, it has a few flaws.

Urban Decay's Naked 2 palette.

The packaging for the second Naked palette is different than the original in a few ways. The actual case itself is actually tin for the Naked 2. It is a hard case that actually closes with a latch. It can definitely handle being in your makeup bag or handbag easily. It can take the wear and tear without scratching the tin or popping open. I really appreciate this quality when it comes to the Naked 2 in comparison to the original Naked.

Just as with the original, this palette comes with 12 neutral eyeshadows. In terms of the tone of the palette, it differs from the original in that it is a lot cooler. The shadows in this palette aren't quiet as warm. That isn't to say that this palette lacks warm tones, it just isn't dominated by them. The cool tones in this palette would be very complimentary of skin tones that have more of a pink undertone. Cooler skin tones go well with the silver undertone that resinates throughout this palette. Just like the original, this palette has all of the shades you need for daily wear and to transition into the evening. It is a wonderful balance of light and dark shades and can produce a perfect smoky eye.

My only problem with this palette is actually the fact that it is a more cool toned palette. I personally have warn toned skin, so a lot of these shades don't compliment my skin and eyes every well. The last six shadows are a lot harder for me to use than the entirety of the original Naked palette. This all comes down to skin tone though. If you are cool toned then this palette is probably the one you should go with out of the original and the second Naked palettes. The original is warmer and the second is cooler. If you have blue/light eyes or have cool toned skin then this palette will compliment that very well. It also has a handful of shades that go well with warmer skin tones though. So really, anyone can make this palette work for them.

Out of the twelve shades in this palette three are matte, and the remaining nine are shimmers. I noted this in my review of the original Naked palette, but if you are looking for a good matte palette then the Naked palettes probably aren't what you are going to go for. They all have a majority of shimmer shadows. I think that they supply the exact matte shades that you need to help you create any shadow look. There is no need for an additional palette when you grab these because they supply you with everything you need. That is one of the best parts of the Naked palettes. They can satisfy all of your needs. The three matte shades in the Naked 2 palette vary pretty drastically. There is a light cream shade (foxy), a medium brown (tease) and a true black (blackout). They can all help create a wonderful evening eye look. The shimmer shadows do vary in how intense the shine is, which gives you a lot of options.

(Top to Bottom: Foxy, Tease, Blackout)

(In the below mentioned order, top to bottom)

My favorite shades in the Naked 2 palette are Half Baked (which is also one of my favorites in the original Naked palette, as it is in both), Chopper, Snakebite, and YDK. These are all shimmer shades and their pigmentation is amazing. Three of these are some of the warm toned shadows in the palette, so it isn't that surprising that they are what I'm drawn to.

(Bottom to Top: Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper, Tease, Snakebite)

(Bottom to Top: Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted, Blackout)

(Bottom to Top: Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper, Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted, Blackout)

This palette lives up to the Urban Decay eyeshadow standards. The formula for every shadow is just amazing. They go on so smoothly. I always say that Urban Decay has to most buttery formula for their eyeshadows. As with most matte eyeshadows, you do have to build those a bit more than the shimmers, but they have wonderful pigmentation too. The color pay off and pigmentation in this palette make it extremely easy to use and blend. It takes a very small amount of product to do any look. This palette is going to last you. In my opinion all of the Naked palettes are worth the $54 you are going to pay. They are an amazing quality and you just know you will get your moneys worth. This palette may not be my favorite but I do reach for it often even with its downfalls from my personal preferences.

The Urban Decay Naked 2 palette is available at urbandecay.com and online & in stores at Ulta and Sephora.

Urban Decay Naked Palette Review

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) Welcome to palette review week! To get things going I thought I would start with a classic, Urban Decay's Naked palette. This little guy has been around for almost five years now and I don't think I need to tell you how much of a following it still has. Everyone and their grandmother has this palette. They have also all reviewed it by now. The thing is, I just purchased mine. I'm pretty excited about it and I wanted to review it as someone who has heard about it for years and just now purchased one. I was a bit late to the makeup world. I'm 22 years old and just now diving into all that makeup has to offer. I thought maybe this review would be helpful for anyone out there who is also a late bloomer or anyone (at any age) who is just starting their makeup collection :)

Urban Decay's Naked palette. Where to start?

In terms of packaging, it is a cardboard case that has a magnetized closure. The outside is a nice, soft brown velvet and the word Naked is embellished in gold on the front. It is really pretty, although the magnetized closure isn't ideal for throwing in your makeup bag. I think I am going to have to use this palette strictly at my vanity because of it.

This palette comes with 12 neutral eyeshadows and has a very bronze/warm tone throughout. If you are a bigger fan of cool tones then I would suggest coming back tomorrow when I am reviewing the Naked 2 palette. I think that the warm tones in this palette can compliment any skin tone but if you naturally have more yellow undertones in your skin, or have a warmer completion, then this is the perfect palette for you to start off with. The tones in this beautifully compliment warm skin tones and it supplies you with the perfect shades for everyday wear, while also allowing you to transition into evening wear.

Out of the 12 shades in the palette two are matte, while the remaining ten are shimmer shadows. If you are looking for a great matte palette, then this is not going to be up your alley. In my opinion you are supplied with the only matte shades that you really need to complete any eyeshadow look. You are given both a light (naked) and medium (buck) brown option, which are both perfect for your crease. The ten shimmery shades vary in their degree of intensity. You have your darker shades, which are a bit subtler, and then your medium shades that can pack a punch in terms of shine.

 (Naked & Buck)

(In the below mentioned order)

My favorite shades have quickly become Sidecar, Half Baked (which is also in the Naked 2 palette), Smog, and Toasted. These are all shimmer shades and in my opinion are all extremely gorgeous.

(Bottom to Top: Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked)

(Bottom to Top:Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep, Gunmetal)

(Bottom to Top: Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep, Gunmetal)

The consistency and formula of all of the shades is obviously marvelous. They are so creamy that I can only describe them as having a buttery consistency. I have found that I have to build the matter shades a bit more then the shimmer ones, but that could just be because my palette is new and sometimes mattes take a while to wear down. The color pay off and pigmentation in this palette is incredible. You only need to slightest amount to complete a look. The value for money here is just impeccable. In my opinion the $54 is well worth it for what you are purchasing. This palette is going to last for ages and because of its neutral tones it's never going to go out of style. It must have taken a lesson from T. Swift on that concept ;)

The Urban Decay Naked palette is available online at urbandecay.com or online & in stores at Ulta and Sephora.

On My Way

2015 Makeup Wishlist

Hello Lovlies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) In 2014 I started to dabble into the makeup world. I have gotten a lot of things I wanted in order to start building a collection but there are still a lot of things I'd love to add. This year I have a goal to further build my collection and get some things that have been on my wishlist for a long time.
A lot of these items are raved about. They are things that every Youtuber and Blogger has talked about. I really want to try them out and decide for myself if they are good products that deserve all of the praise. You may disagree with my desire to try out all of these cult favorites but I figure there must be a reason everyone likes them. Also don't be shocked by the number of things I don't already have...because it is a lot. Which is why I'm making this list :)

*All items linked if you hover over the names*

Face

I own no brushes. I figure if I am going to get serious about this whole makeup thing then I should probably get some. What better than this gorgeous rose gold set?

I have watched so many Youtubers put on foundation with these. I just want to see what the hype is about. I mean will my face really look better if I pat on foundation with this thing?

I'm not sure I need this but I sometimes think the pores on my nose are to visible. I'd like to make that less of a problem if I am going to start wearing foundation.

I currently don't use foundation. I have said before that the reason for this is I don't like the way my freckles look with it. Another reason is that I simply never know what shade to buy. I am going to get some professional help with that and then try out this one because everyone just raves about it.

I have a feeling that because I don't like the feeling of foundation on my skin that my attempt to wear it might not work out... but I have heard great things about BB creams and I think it might be more my style for daily wear.

I actually already own this product but it is a shade too dark for me. When I purchased it they didn't have my shade but I wanted it so I got it anyways. It isn't that big of a problem but I still want to buy my shade since I actually like this product.

I have heard so much about this. I want to learn how to wear bronzer and I feel like I should learn with the best.

This set is gorgeous. I want that blush on my checks every day.

I need this. Can you imagine anything prettier to have on your checks? Okay so maybe I just want to wear all the beautiful blushes everyday.. can you blame me?!

I am obsessed with this highlight. Literally. Every time I am in Sephora and Ulta I go straight to it and put it on my hand just to stare at how pretty it is. Nailed it, Urban Decay.

Eyes

I own the Naked 2 Palette and always feel like it is a waste when I wear it because I don't have a primer and it doesn't stay put on my eyes. I need to buckle down and buy this already.

I have Naked 2 but I have wanted the original naked palette since the first time I laid eyes on it. I love the taupe shades of Naked 2 but the bronze feel of the original is just suited perfectly for my taste.

This palette is perfect for me. I am a natural make up kind of person and the shades in this are gorgeous while still feeling down to earth.

This is the perfect minimal palette. It has everything you need for daily use and you know the quality is amazing.

I have never truly nailed liquid liner. It is hard to admit but it is true. I have watched so many people put this on flawlessly. Maybe that means that over time I'd be able to figure it out. Here's hoping!

The only liner I can really use is gel, which is applied with a brush. This seems like the perfect marriage between the quality of gel with the application of liquid. I have tried it and it deserves any praise you've heard. This stuff is going nowhere once it is on.

Gel liner is by far my favorite and I have heard that this is the best one to many times not too try it out myself.

I love mascara. It is my favorite thing in my makeup bag. I want to have a collection of nice ones and this one seems like the one that I am really going to fall in love with. Look at that brush!

I am no a huge fan of plastic brushes but this mascara looks to wonderful to pass it up.

Every time I see this brush I decide I need this mascara in my life. Plus it is Urban Decay and that is just a brand I trust to have a good products.

I love Tanya and when she released her line of false eyelashes I immediately fell in love with her Bambi Eyes set. They are gorgeous. I don't wear lashes often (usually only on stage) but I will find excuses for lashes this gorgeous.

My best friend Amanda was lovely enough to get me Gimmie Brow as a part of my birthday present. She got me the light/medium thinking that since it was perfect for her brows (which are similar to mine) that it would be the color for me. I have found that it is just a little to light though. My brows are very dark and bold so I think the medium/dark will be great.

Lips

I own a large collection of Tanya Burr glosses. They are the best in my opinion and she has supplied you with any shade you could need. Chic is the one I hear about most often but have never gotten my hands on. It is frequently sold out. I hope to get it soon.

In her most recent shade launch Tanya included this orange/coral shade that is magnificent. It is one of my favorite shades for my lips and with her formula added I know I'll love it. Plus how adorable is the name?!

I love the naked line and when I see the glosses I just know I would love them. This seems like a wonderful nude and I love the name :)

Coral to die for! This color would top off a naked eye perfectly.

My bestie Amanda recently bought one of these melted glosses and they seem amazing. This color is just too stunning to pass up!

As you can tell at this point, I love coral lips. This shade seems perfect for my makeup bag!

This is technically a check & lip stain but I am including it in the lip section because I love the way it looks on lips and because it is always nice to have a good lip stain around.

This is one of the most loved of the MAC lipsticks. I love red lips and am always searching for THE red lipstick. I think this may be the purchase where I find it.

I love nude lips and have heard such wonderful things about NARS lipsticks. I just feel like I need to give it a try!

That is my complete list of products I really want to purchase this year. I know that it is going to take some time to collect them but I am so excited to learn more about makeup and explore it all further. Do you have any of these products? Do you have any products you've been wanting to try? If so, let me know in the comments!
