I'm With You

Summer Makeup Haul

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) So I have been forming quite the collection of new makeup this summer. I have my largest intake of money during the summer so it is really the time when I get to splurge on things like makeup. I managed to get a lot of things that were on my wishlist and I'm pretty thrilled with all of my purchases. I figured I would show y'all what I got and maybe see if there are any things that I should do a full review on. I figured for this post, instead of reviewing the items (that could take all day) I would just say why I wanted them in the first place.

Beauty

Marc Jacobs Honey Perfume

I have been looking into getting a nicer perfume for a while now. I love perfume but have always sort of gravitated toward the cheaper end. I smelled this and knew that this was the (slightly) more expensive perfume I wanted to start with.

Vera Wang Hippie Princess Perfume

I have always said that I am a bit of a hippie. I think that I am naturally drawn to a lot of things that could be compared to a hippie or boho vibe. I have used the original Vera Wang Princess perfume since I was in high school and just finished a bottle. I have smelled all of the variations over the years but this is the only one that pulled me in. It's the perfect summer scent for me.

Face

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Captivating

I have been slowly building my makeup collection over the past year or so and at the beginning of the summer I noticed a distinct gap in my collection. I have practically no blushes. I decided that one of the ones I needed to purchase was the perfect summer, peace/orange shade. Captivating checked that box and more.

Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Baby Love

Another blush tone that I decided I needed was a more neutral, nude tone. This blush has a bit of mauve vibe but it is the neutral shade I was looking for that also suits my skin tone. I knew a neutral shade would open up my options for eye and lip looks.

Urband Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Light Warm

The reason behind wanting this was pretty simple... EVERYONE and their mother raves about it one Youtube. I don't buy into every product that is raved about online but there comes a point when you are listening to your 15th beauty guru saying you need something and you think "well I must need that". I also mainly stick to concealer in terms of coverage and so I'm always looking for good ones.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Bronzers were another area that I was seriously lacking in. The only bronzer in my collection was NARS Laguna, which is an excellent product but it can only do so much. My best friend highly recommended this and said it would work well for me. I take her recommendations to heart.

Eyes

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

I always thought of this palette as being for blue eyes, which I am not blessed with. I thought it was gorgeous but figured that there was no point in purchasing it (just like I shouldn't have purchased the Naked 2 palette, but that is another story). Then one day my cousins best friend, who works at Ulta, said that it would go perfect with my red hair. I had never heard this before. Apparently it is a thing though because I got told two more times when I was shopping in Sephora that I should purchase it. That was all of the convincing I needed.

Tarte Tartelette Palette

I have a lot of palettes at this point but there was thing I was pretty largely missing in that category, a good matte collection. I looked at a few of the strictly matte palette options but none of them felt right besides the Tarte one. That big mirror didn't hurt anything either.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

I love my Too Faced Neutral Eyes Palette so much that I knew I wanted another Too Faced one. Kathleen Lights, aka one of my favorite Youtubers, very highly recommends this one so I decided to check it out. I liked the color selection in the original better than the semi-sweet one so I went with it.

Colourpop & Kathleen Lights Where The Light Is Quad

As I just said, Kathleen is one of my favorite Youtubers. When I found out that she did an eyeshadow collaboration with Colourpop I knew that I would love it. She is drawn to the same colors that I am so I knew they would be warm and glowy.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Eyeliner in Purple

This is my holy grail eyeliner. I thought the purple would be pretty with my Naked 3 palette and with my brown eyes.

Maybelline Brow Drama in Auburn

I am pretty attached to my Benefit Gimmie Brow but I figured that if there was a drugstore alternative then I should probably check it out. Plus they only have two shades in the Benefit line and Maybelline was offering an Auburn option, which happens to be my hair color.

Lips

Colourpop Lippie Sticks

As with the eyeshadow quad, I had to purchase this lipstick (Lumiere) because it was a collaboration with Kathleen. That's about the extent of my thought process.

I know this might seem like a bit of a splurge but I have been obtaining these things over the last few months. I didn't purchase it all on one trip. If there are any items that you would like to see a full review of let me know in the comments :)

I Just Can't Stop Loving You

August (& Some July) Favorites

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) I very epically missed the month of July when it came to a favorites post. I mean I was still working on writing that when August 15th rolled around. At that point I figured it was a lost cause and I should just let it go. I have sense realized that I was having such a hard time with that post because July came and went so quickly that I honestly hadn't accumulated many favorite things. Not having much to write about can certainly make doing a post difficult. As there is not really any excuse for my absence from posting, I am not going to make any. I am simply going to say that my August has been lovely (I hope yours has as well) and I have many things that I loved along the way. I am also going to lump the few things I had in that July favorites post in with this one. I wouldn't want them to feel left out after all ;)

Fashion

Spiderman Shirt

I got this shirt at Target. It was on sale for $7. Can you believe that? I mean $7. Craziness. Anyways, it is technically a pajama top but that hasn't stopped me from wearing it during the day... and very much in public. I have reached for this so often in the last two months that I lost count a long time ago. I think it is so adorable. I have also paired it with a red lip a few times, which I love.

Accessories

James Avery Birthstone Ring

This was a bit of a splurge after receiving a larger paycheck than I had expected early this month. I have had my eye on this ring since I was in high school but the large price tag associated with it, along with my tendency to lose anything with a large price tag associated with it always stopped me from actually purchasing it. Then at the beginning of the month I went in with Amanda so that she could get a charm her boyfriend bought her added to her charm bracelet and I decided to just go for it. I love seeing it on my had. It is gorgeous.

*That's the birthstone for a December birthday, by the way.

Beauty

Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette

I may have featured this palette in my favorites before, and I also did an entire review on it during my palette review week, but it really is just the best. It is small and perfect for throwing in my makeup bag. Plus the amount of looks that you can get from just this palette is outstanding. It is the perfect neutral palette (yes, even compared to the original Naked palette) and it has the prettiest gold eyeshadow in it, which is perfect for my favorite eye look.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Captivating

I purchased this hoping that it would a) compliment my skin tone well (peaches and oranges tend to) and b) be the perfect summertime blush. It has delivered on both accounts. In fact it has surpassed my expectations. It is one of the most gorgeous blushed I have ever seen. A little goes a long way too, so I imagine that it will last more for many summers to come.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 32

I bought this color hoping that it would go well with my Tarte blush from above. It does. My go to summer makeup has now consisted of a gold smokey eye, peachy cheeks, and orange lips. I love it. It is a little drying but if I don't pack it on that isn't much of a problem.

Vera Wang Hippie Princess Perfume

It was a bit of a struggle to find this. I saw it at Ulta a few months ago and knew I wanted it. I should have bought it then and there (the universe has tried to teach me this lesson many times but it just can't manage to stick) but I wanted to wait until my next paycheck. Well when I went back to get it they, of course, did not have it. I produced to look for it, at multiple stores over multiple weeks, to no avail. Then one day I was running a little early and needed to fill some time so I wandered into an Ulta. I definitely wasn't looking for this perfume but there it was when I walked in the door. I immediately checked out and walked out with it. We have been in a wonderful love affair ever since.

Home

NYC & Paris Canvas Art

I have been trying to make my apartment feel more like a home since the day we moved in. I think I have finally managed to get there over the past month. The only thing that could make it feel any better would be Autumn, which is right around the corner. One of the big things is all of the art I have hanging now. These sets of NYC & Paris scenes are so perfect. It fits the little umbrella & travel theme that I have got going. I honestly just love looking at them.

Mason Jar with Straw

My roommate Clay & I love these skits from Comedy Central called Publizity. Due to our obsessive nature we obviously had to get cups like theirs. I got the mason jar, as I am the one with bangs (that will makes sense if you look up the bangs video they have...you are welcome).

Entertainment

Tyler Oakley's Auguest

I included this in my August favorites last year too because it is simply amazing. I love Tyler and I love collaborations. A whole month of collab videos every weekday is a magical experience. They are done now, and you should go binge (speaking of binge, check out his book that is available for preorder now) watch them all!

Young & Hungry

I kept seeing this on Netflix, and figured I would probably like it since it was an ABC Family show, but I hadn't gotten around to it yet when I found out that my Mama had watched it and really enjoyed it. This was the only push I needed to finally start watching it. I am SO glad that I did. It is not only quick and witty but also hilarious. A great cast and wonderful writing mix to create an adorably fun comedy. Plus Emily Osment plays the main character... childhood flashbacks anyone?

Burning House by Cam

I am slightly embarrassed to admit this... A little backstory is needed to understand why though. So back in March I went to SXSW to see Sam Hunt. Before he came on this girl I had never heard of, dressed in all yellow from head to toe, performed. Her voice was so obnoxious and her overly fake and cheery disposition was not my style. I wrote her off as someone who would never make it big. Little did I know that I would start hearing her on the radio all of the time... Well end of story I am obsessed with this song. I still don't know if I like Cam or not, but I will give her the credit she is due for the lovely song.

Port Aransas & Parasailing

Earlier this month, my best friend Amanda and I decided to take a day trip to the beach. We choose Port Aransas and decided that we wanted to go parasailing while we were there. I have lived in Texas all of my life but I had never been to a Texas beach. The whole day was so much fun. It was also exhausting. We left home at 7 AM and got back around 1AM. It was a rough drive home. While we were there though, I got to stand in the Gulf of Mexico for the first time and we got to experience parasailing for the first time together. It is SOOOO much fun and I highly recommend trying it. We did it through Chute'em Up Parasailing and had the most wonderful experience. The group of people we went with were so much fun and the workers made everything feel very easy and comfortable.

Those are the things I have particularly been enjoying over the last few months. I hope that your August treated you well, back to school and all! September is officially here and I could not be more excited. PSL anyone? I'll see you at Starbucks on the 8th :)

Eyes Open

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Review

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) Simply put I can sum up this entire post in one sentence; this is the single best makeup product I have ever purchased. I just wanted to make it clear up front that the rest of this post will be spent raving about this mascara. I am sure that you have heard plenty of people rave about it but if you'd like to hear my reasons for raving, and my warning about flaws then you can keep reading my post :)

My best friend Amanda steered me away from this product. She had received the sample size in one of her epsy boxes and was not a fan. For that reason I put off buying this mascara for a while. I knew that I wanted it and I knew that people I really trusted loved it but Amanda is my best source of information when it come to makeup so I wanted to listen to her. I finally gave in and bought it after the temptation was just to much and I am so glad that I did. It is amazing. I can see how it wouldn't be for everyone. My Mama tried it and was also not a fan. I completely understand where the flaws could be big enough to make someone not like this product. When you first start using it the brush can be quite overwhelming. It is an intense product and with certain eye types it can be easy to make a mess, this is the problem that my Mama had. I tend to be a messy mascara applier so I had to learn how to apply it in a neat manner. From time to time I will get it on my eyelid but this is thankfully easy to correct with a q-tip.

The pros to this product are that it has a brush that applies mascara magically. I have long eyelashes so my aim with a mascara is never a lengthening brush. I want volume from a mascara. This one does that for me on a level no other mascara can. The closest I have come to the level of volume is Maybelline's The Falsies, which is my favorite drug store mascara. Now saying that this mascara gives me the volume I am looking for does not mean that it doesn't lengthen as well. It does. That just isn't my main concern when it comes to a mascara. The formula of this mascara is also quite wet so it is easy to manipulate my lashes while applying it. Sometimes I find that if I put on a mascara and my lashes are a bit wonky the formula is to dry to really reposition them. With Better Than Sex I can get every lash into place and when it dries I know that they will stay put. It is also an intense black. Some mascaras, even ones labelled very black, just don't have the color payoff I am looking for. If I wanted anything other than black then I would buy a brown mascara. When I buy a black one I am looking for pure black. I want my eyelashes to stand out and to make my eyes pop. That is definitely accomplished with this product.

I already stated this at the beginning but this is the best makeup product I have ever invested in. It is $23 which is very comparable with other mascaras in its league. If you have been thinking about buying a more high-end mascara then I would highly recommend starting with this one. It is my all time favorite.

It Just Comes Natural

Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette Review

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) Welcome back to palette review week. It is hard to believe but we are already half way through our little event. It is day three and for our hump day review we have Too Faced's Natural Eyes palette. We have transitioned from Urban Decay, a brand widely known for its eyeshadows, to Too Faced. Too Faced is widely gaining popularity for its Chocolate Bar palettes. The brand as a whole is one of my favorites and it doesn't surprise me that their eyeshadows are getting more attention lately.

Too Faced's Natural Eyes palette.

The packaging for the Natural Eyes palette, as well as the majority of Too Faced's smaller palettes, is a tin case with a magnetic closure. While this is not ideal for travel, I have found that it is pretty reliable at staying closed and the hard case can handle any wear and tear from being thrown in a makeup bag or purse. In fact, I threw it in my purse to bring with me while I am writing this review.

This palette includes 9 eyeshadows. Three out of these nine are larger (.07 oz), while the remaining six are smaller (.03 oz). The shadows that are larger are actually shades that will probably be used more, which can lead to a balance in how much of the product is used.

(Day Category, Bottom to Top: Heaven, Cashmere Bunny, Sexspresso)

The shades in this palette are all neutrals, hence the name Natural Eyes. While the Naked palettes are also neutral tones, the set up of this palette actually makes it function is a much different manner. The Too Faced smaller palettes are all organized to give you three designated eye looks. There is a Day, Classic & Fashion category. When you purchase the palette you receive a guide for looks that you can wear with each category. I have tried each of the looks using the guide, but when I use this palette the majority of the time I am just using the shadows how I want to, not necessarily how they were intended. If you are just starting with makeup the guided use of this palette could easily be beneficial.

(Classic Category, Bottom to Top: Silk Teddy, Push-up, Erotica)

Within the palette four of the shadows are matte, and the remaining five are shimmers. There is a really good balance within this palette that allows you to create an optimal amount of looks using only it. If you are looking for a neutral palette that is going to supply you with more options for a matte eye look, then this might be the palette you have been looking for.

If you are seeking an all matte palette, then you are also in luck. Too Faced has recently released a Natural Matte palette. I have considered purchasing it because of how much I love my Natural Eyes but the Day category in both palettes is exactly the same. I have found it hard to convince myself that I need both, especially because I use the Day category the least in this palette. If you want a matte palette that will compliment all of those palettes you have that are overwhelmingly shimmers, then it could be the perfect choice for you.

(Fashion Category, Bottom to Top: Nudie, Honey Pot, Chocolate Martini)

This is probably my most reached for palette on a daily basis. The neutral feel of it makes it ideal for day wear. When I just want to enhance my eyes without making it overly obvious that I have on eyeshadow, this is the perfect palette to use. My most used shadow within the palette has to be Nudie from the Fashion category. It is, in my opinion, the perfect brown for doing your crease. I even use it as my crease color when I am using a different palette for the rest of my look.

(Bottom to Top: Heaven, Cashmere Bunny, Sexspresso, Silk Teddy, Push-Up, Erotica, Nudie, Honey Pot, Chocolate Martini)

Lastly, the pigmentation and the formula of this palette are amazing. They are just as wonderful as the Urban Decay palettes. I even reach for this palette more often than I do any of my others, which should be some indication of how great it is to use. I am extremely interested in getting the Chocolate Bar palette, or the Semi-Sweet palette, from Too Faced. I have heard such wonderful things about them and after having enjoyed this palette so much, I have a lot of faith in Too Faced. For the $36 price tag, in comparison with most palettes that hover around the $50 mark, I think that this palette is a must add to any collection.

Too Faced's Natural Eyes palette is available online at toofaced.com or online & in stores at Ulta and Sephora.

Crazy In Love

March Favorites

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) March has gone by much to quickly! It has been a beautiful month. I've just had so much love around me lately and it makes life that much more lovely. These are some of the things I have simply been adoring this month!

Fashion

Halter Crop Top

I think I featured this shirt on my favorites last year, but I recently rediscovered it. I have been wearing it a ton with skirts and with my new kimono! I just love the halter shape on me. I think it is really flattering.

Longhorn Maxi Skirt

When I bought this skirt (at Target) I wasn't totally sure about it. I had never owned a maxi skirt before and I didn't know if I liked the way it looked on me but over the last month I have fallen in love. I throw it on all the time and I get compliments on the pattern lots :)

Accessories

Sunflower Headband

When spring rolls around I always take it as a sign that I should start wearing flower headbands again. I love floral headbands. I think they are so pretty. I know some people think they are childish or basic but I don't really care what anyone else thinks. I wear what I like!

Beauty

Benefit Roller Lash

I was hesitant to purchase this mascara because I am not a huge plastic brush fan but I am glad I took the chance. I actually used some of my Ulta points to purchase it so I got a $24 mascara for $16, which I thought was pretty impressive. Speaking of impressive, this mascara is seriously on point. I am going to do an entire review on it because it is just to good not to.

Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette

I love this palette. If you are a neutrals kind of girl (or boy!) then you will love this. Go buy it. Now. Like really, right now.

My Pedicure

I don't know what it is about this pedicure but I love it. I have not stopped talking about my toes since I got it. This color is just gorgeous! I am going to have to buy it.

Food

Any Iced Coffee

I love iced coffee on a hot day and considering the fact that I study at a coffee place nearly everyday, I have been having a lot of iced coffee!

Entertainment

50 Shades of Grey Series

Yes, I am embarrassed to include this but I am supposed to be talking about my favorite things and this series has been a HUGE part of my March! I started reading the books because my best friend Clay really wanted me to see the movie with him. The thing with me is that if I am going to see a movie that was a book originally, I have to read the book first. The book is just always better. It was, in case you were wondering. I got so hooked on the storyline that I have read all three this month. Keep in mind that the movie didn't even come out until Valentine's Day and I started reading a good while after that. I am almost done with the third book and I am already sad that it is ending. Give the series a chance if you like character driven things. The writing isn't the best but it doesn't mater when you like the characters :)

Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding

I am obsessed with this song. I listen to it on repeat in my car and in my apartment and while I am sitting at Starbucks writing this post! It is so good. It is catchy and upbeat and Ellie's voice sounds so wonderful!

Spring is officially here and so is April! I hope that your April is filled with flowers and sunshine :)

Burn With You

February Favorites

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) February has been a busy one for me! I managed to get sick for an entire week in the middle so things have been a bit chaotic on my end. As I have been busy and trying to stay caught up with my daily life my blogging has slipped away from me a bit. I have loads of things ready to post though so I am going to be jumping back in for the month of March. My favorites were not vast this month but the things that I loved were very loved so everything on my list was very much adored this month.

Fashion

I bought this sweater before I went to NYC to take on the trip. It was such a deep green and I didn't own anything like it. It turns out it is in my color wheel and it has become one of my all time favorite sweaters. I pair it with my mustard scarf and just feel so pretty. I get so many comments on how well the combo suits me.

Accessories

I have had this scarf for a year or two and I simply adore it. It falls in my color wheel so I just feel pretty when I wear it. People notice how well the color compliments my skin too. If you haven't looked into what color season you are I highly recommend doing it. You really do feel prettier when you are wearing colors that compliment your natural coloring.

Alfie Deyes' "Sorry About My Hair" Beanie

One of my favorite Youtubers Alfie Deyes (Pointlessblog) released limited edition merchandise in January and it came in the mail this month. As I live in Texas I was worried I wouldn't be able to wear it at all this year but it has been so cold here! I was actually thrilled with the cold weather because I just love the clothes in winter time. Anyways, I have been wearing this beanie and everybody that sees it instantly loves it. It is adorable. I even put this picture up on my Instagram and Alfie himself liked it. It was a very thrilling moment of the month :)

Beauty

St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub

This scrub exfoliates my skin on a whole new level. I can't use it every day because it really does scrub away the top, icky layer of your skin and it will dry your skin out if you use it to much, but I use it every other day. It leaves my skin feeling amazing and it smells great too!

Too Faced Beter Than Sex Mascara

This mascara is exactly what the name suggests. I wasn't a fan of the name Better Than Sex when I first found this mascara but Too Faced simply had to choose that name because it is the best description for how amazing this product is. I am in love with this mascara. I already know that it is going to become a staple piece in my makeup for years to come.

I have always worn eyeliner on my water line & tight line but I have never had an eyeliner that stayed in place all day (or for more than a few hours). This purchase has to be one of the best I've made when it comes to makeup because this eyeliner stays where I put it all day long. It is so waterproof that it is almost difficult to take off at night. I have taken to using it on my tight line almost every day and am loving it. It also comes in more colors than black, which most lines don't offer. I am definitely a fan of this product!

Food

I love Girl Scout cookies. I mean, who doesn't?? I like all of them but my all time favorite Girl Scout cookies are thin mints. They are perfection in a cookie and I look forward to them every year.

Entertainment

Good Mythical Morning

I found Rhett & Link in the last month or two and they have definitely become a part of my daily routine. They post their videos at 6AM EST so they are always waiting for me when I wake up. I love starting my day with their videos. I never fail to laugh. Having a cup of coffee and getting ready while I watch their videos is the perfect way to start the day :)

I found this show because my Mama & my cousin Ellie were both watching it and told me it was adorable (separately and on the same day, it was weird). I was behind so I caught up on demand and am now hooked. It is set in the 90s and I grew up in that time period so it is such a fun and nostalgic show. The music is great and the storyline is even better. This show really is adorable and I highly recommend it. You know a show is good when it starts to replace some of your staple shows. It was an instant favorite!

My list this month was short but also sweet! I hope you enjoyed it and maybe got some recommendations from it. I am going to get back to blogging more frequently as I have had more than one massive shop and am collecting loads of makeup I want to review. I even have some clothing things I am planning. I hope February was wonderful for y'all and that March is even better!!
