Same Old Love

January Favorites

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) The first month of 2016 has come and gone! It went by pretty fast don't you think? I was pretty shocked that it was a new year honestly and now that one twelfth of that new year is past I am pretty behind. I have had a wonderful year so far and a lot of favorites so lets jump right in!

Fashion

Army Green V-Neck

This was a completely spontaneous buy at Target one night. I am obsessed with green right now and it was $10 so I figured it was a good purchase. It is nearly the only low cut shirt that I own.. I don not purchase low cut things. I think it is still cute though because it is so causal. I think it comes across less as trying to be sexy that way, which is the furthest things from what I'm going for.

Forest Green Button Up

I bought this back in the summer because I thought the color was so very gorgeous and it was the best purchase. I thought that it was too expensive at the time but it was a good investment because I think I have worn it at least once a week since the weather started to get a little cooler.

Abercrombie High Waisted Bootcut Jeans

I think this is the best pair of jeans I have ever owned. I am very sad that I only got three pairs and they have now stopped selling them... They fit me so wonderfully and are really flattering. I am going to try out the regular bootcut jeans and see if they compare but for now I will live in these.

Accessories

James Avery Charm Bracelet

For Christmas my best friend Amanda decided to get me something I have wanted for years... a charm bracelet. She decided to include some of the closest people to me in it and make it that much more special. I love it so much. It is beautiful. I could not be more thankful to Amanda for giving me such a wonderful and thoughtful gift.

Olive Green Boots

I also bought these back in the summer thinking they would get a lot of wear time when it got cold. They have. I wear them all of the time. Just look at them!

Beauty

Nars Charlotte Lipstick

I had this on my wishlist for a long time. I think it is gorgeous. Packaging, color, formula. Everything.

Tartelette Palette

I bought this palette a long time ago but never really connected with it until recently. It has a wonderful formula and a beautiful color selection.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment

I depend on this. I have gone through two of them and even bought the pink one. My lips have always had a lot of issues and this is the only thing that truly hydrates and improves them.

Home

Fawn Container & Heart Ring Holder

Both of these were purchased during a trip to Kirkland's. I finally had make storage containers for my vanity and I wanted to add something to hold my ponytails/bobby pins and my jewelry.

Food

Home Cooking with Trisha Yearwood

I bought this looking for new things to cook at home. There are a lot of good things in here. Plus Trisha is one of my grandmothers favorite people so I knew it would be a good book :)

Dunkin' Donuts Blueberry Cake Donut

This donut is like a muffin in donut form. I am slightly addicted.

Entertainment

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

I am almost ashamed to admit that I have been watching this in my free time but honestly I just needed mindless entertainment. When I get home and I'm tired I just want to put something on that I don't have to think too hard about. No real story line to follow, nothing too serious. I just enjoy putting it on at the end of the day and zoning out. I am actually watching it as I am writing this post. Wonderful background noise.

Serial Podcast Season One

Lately there has been a lot of hype connected to the Netflix show Making A Murder and I had interest in watching it but honestly I let all of the talk about it discourage me. I remembered that I had subscribed to Serial months ago and decided that maybe that would be a better route to take at this moment. I am so glad that I did. I am now hooked. I got all the way through season one and have listened to all of the episodes in season two so far.

To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han Audiobook

I typically only listen to audiobooks while I am in the car but I listened to this entire book in a matter of days because I was listening to it so often when I was alone. It was such a cute story and I really enjoyed listening to it.

This feels like an overly long favorites this month but I haven't written a favorites post in quite a while so I think some of these things were just built up. I want to get back into this blog desperately. It makes me so sad to look at my blog and not see a new post for months. I think that my anxiety honestly got the best of me over the last few months and I just got overwhelmed with the idea of people looking at something that I wrote. I also haven't found a spot in my new apartment to really take pictures for my blog. The lighting isn't the best here. I am going to make it work though! I am really getting back into this. It is my promise to myself. I want to do more of the things that make me happy and this is my happy place.

I hope that you had a wonderful first month of the year. We have eleven more to go! Here is to a wonderful February :)

You Are In Love

January Favorites

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) The month of January has been a busy and full one. 2015 started off with a bang! I have had such a lovely month and gotten to spend so much time with family and friends. I have been having such a fun and positive month and it has been full of favorite things because of it! It's always easier to love things when you are in a wonderful mood.

Fashion

Gatsby Sweatshirt

I have had this sweatshirt for more than a year and I love it just as much now as the day I got it in the mail. It is so comfy and the perfect thing to throw on when I don't want to think to hard about my outfit but I still want to look cute. It's great with jeans and with tights. I also get so many compliments on it! I have been wearing it a lot this month when the TX weather decides to get chilly.

Brown Leather Flip Flops

My cousin Ellie bought these for me after we got a pedicure together and I didn't have any flip flops to wear afterwards. I love them and with the beautiful weather we've been getting glimpses of here (have I mentions the weather in Texas is bipolar??) I have been loving putting them on. Basic brown leather flip flops are such an essential piece.

Accessories

James Avery Heart & Swirl Rings

I have had these rings for a long time and they are the only rings that I wear on a regular basis. I love simple, plain pieces and these are lovely. I have been remembering to slip them on in the morning a lot this month and I love seeing them while I type notes in class :)

James Avery Crosslet Heart Necklace

This has been my signature necklace since my senior year in high school. I really wanted a cross necklace but not one that was really flashy. I love how simple this is and I like to try and wear it every day. If you look back through my pictures since I was 18, I am most likely wearing this necklace. I love how consistent it has been in my life, just like my faith.

Beauty

I actually did an entire post on this, which should be going up before I post this! If I did get it up I'll be sure to leave a link to it here :)

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

I got this, along with a foundation and powder from Rimmel, this month. I have been loving all three but this concealer has been the standout for me! Even if I can't be bothered with much makeup I know I can count on this baby to cover those dark circles (I'm 22 after all... I can sleep when I'm old!) in the morning and brighten up my eyes. I really love this concealer and it makes me a little more excited to do my makeup in the morning!

I did an entire post on all of the Tanya Burr lip glosses that I own (and love)! I will link that here, but just in case an entire post didn't translate just how much I love them I am going to include them here too. The two I have in the picture are Let's Travel The World & Berry Picking. I have been using these two the most this month. I love the red when the weather is pretty and the berry goes so well when it is a little cooler outside and I use my berry toned blush.

Home

University Of Texas Coasters

My wonderful, lovely and talented best friend bought me these coaster for Christmas and I use them every day. They are so adorable and the perfect touch of school spirit within my apartment! They are just so unique for school merchandize and I love them.

Coffee House Wall Sticker

Amanda, in all of her generosity, also got me this adorable wall sticker. She definitely knows me and my love for coffee (which I also did a post on this month, linked here). This goes so perfectly in my kitchen and I love looking up and thinking of her when I see it :)

Anthropologie Homegrown Monogram Mug

My other just as wonderful, lovely and talented (I'm so lucky to have my friends!) best friend bought me this gorgeous mug for my birthday. It is promptly featured in my favorite mugs post. I love drinking tea out of this mug because it just feels dainty and lets be honest I just adore anything with my initials on it!

Food

Borden Dutch Chocolate Milk

Chocolate milk is my comfort drink. When I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed there isn't anything that can calm me down as quickly. This month has been a bit overwhelming at times and I have been turing to my chocolate milk to stay sane (I really should stop.. I don't need to add getting bigger to my list of worries)!

Entertainment

The Office

I have seen so many things about Jim & Pam on Tumblr over the years (and recently got hooked on The Mindy Project) so I thought it was about time to give The Office a chance. It was a great decision. I have almost gotten through the entire show and I love it. I love all of the characters and even when the story is bothering me there is always something to laugh about.
PS: Jim & Pam are as wonderful as everything you've ever heard about them. Relationship goals!

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling

Seeing as I recently got hooked on The Mindy Project I needed to look into what else the lovely and hilarious Mindy Kaling has been up to. This book is hilarious! I won't try and compare it to another female comedians book because that is just disrespectful to everybody. This book is witty, charming and magnificent all in its own right! Plus listening to Mindy herself read it adds so much to the experience!

Zoe Sugg (Zoella) recently featured this song in one of her GRWM videos and the second I heard it I know it was Adam Barnes (she had featured his music before, which I already owned). I love this song and it has been on constant repeat in my apartment, in my car, in my dreams! The music has such a wonderful sound and Adam's voice is heavenly. Check him out!

I hope that your start to 2015 was wonderful! If it wasn't (or even if it was), there is the rest of the year left to make it everything you want it to be. It is never too late or too early for change. Have a wonderful February and I hope you make it through Valentines Day sane!

All I Want For Christmas Is You.

My Christmas Wishlist

Hello Lovelies. I'm Jordan Nicole :) Since it is the holiday season I thought that I would compile a list of the things I would love to get for Christmas this year. Now, this list is completely a dream list of things I have been coveting for a long time, not an actual list that I would give my parents or loved ones. I very much believe that the best gift you can receive & give in life is your time and love. My favorite part of the holidays is the happiness and joy I get from being so close to the people I love. I also know that not everyone celebrates Christmas but regardless of what you are celebrating this holiday season, you never need a reason to celebrate life with the people you love. This list is just a fun little post that I thought might inspire you if you are trying to write your own list or if you are trying to think of presents for the people in your life.

Starbucks Gift Card (~$10)

I never need an excuse to drink coffee but having a gift card (lets be real, for any amount) is so exciting. I love going into Starbucks and feeling like I got to get my coffee free. This is such an easy thing to give to the people in your life. From casual acquaintance to best friends, it is perfect for anyone.

Dorothy Must Die By Danielle Paige ($9)

I am a big reader and am always on the hunt for new books. When I came across this one a few months ago I knew I wanted to read it. This is actually cheaper for me to buy on my kindle but I love physical copies of books and it is a great easy-to-find (yet still cheap) addition to my wishlist.

Anthropologie Monogram Mug ($10)

This mug is very easy on the wallet, only coming in at $10, but because it is something that is personal to the person receiving it (it being monogramed and all), it feels even more special than any expensive gift. Most people drink tea or coffee and even if they don't this mug is so beautiful that they could just use it as a decoration. Again, it is great for everyone from casual acquaintances to best friends.

Begin Again ($10)

This movie is not short and I have watched it more than once. The story is very touching and emotional without feeling slow paced or boring. The direction is wonderful at keeping your attention and the original music is so lovely that you will want to run out and buy the soundtrack (trust me, I have).

The Cellar By Natasha Preston ($7)

This is another book that I have had my eyes on for quite some time. Like Dorothy Must Die, I could easily purchase this on my kindle but I would just rather have a physical copy. It is easy to find and less than $10. Such a great stocking stuffer idea :)

The 1975 Album ($9)

The 1975 has been around for a while and I have been listening to their music just as long but I have never gotten around to purchasing their entire album. Whether it is gifted through iTunes or I got to unwrap the physical cd, I would be thrilled to find this as one of the presents under my tree.

Circle Scarf ($15)

The color scheme in my closet it just begging for a forest green and a burgundy scarf. This one from Modcloth is gorgeous. I own this same scarf in mustard and get a ton of use out of it. This is still on the affordable side, while also being something anyone would love to receive.

One Direction's Four Album ($22)

One Direction is certainly not for everyone but I own their first three albums and have been wanting to add Four to my collection. I haven't wanted to buy the digital copy because I have the physical copy of their other albums. I would be so excited to unwrap this as a gift.

False Peter Pan Collar (~$20)

I love the way that collars look under sweaters but I have always been uncomfortable wearing shirts with another shirt on top. This is the perfect solution! The adorable look of a collar without having to deal with a collared shirt bunching up under my sweater. It is something I would be overjoyed to own but I never seem to buy it for myself. Those items make the best presents :)

The John Green Collection ($25)

I already own three of these books but they are all in ebook form and I love them so much that I want to add them to my physical copy collection. John Green is such a talented writer. If you have not read any of his novels I highly recommend him. He also has a Youtube channel with is brother Hank if you would like to see some more of him.

Bath & Body Works 3-Wick Candles ($22)

I adore Bath & Body Works and my favorite things from the store are their 3-wick candles. The Christmas scents just bring the season to life. It isn't the holiday season with out the holiday smells after all! As I write this their Twisted Peppermint candle is burning away on my coffee table :)

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette ($29)

This is the perfect present for a makeup lover without breaking your bank. It has all of the essential colors packed into a tiny palette. I have had my eye on this for a long while now. It is at the very top of my list :)

Tyler Oakley Merchandise ($40)

Tyler Oakley is one of my favorite Youtubers and I have wanted something from his merch store for a long time. This sweater is my favorite thing he has released. It is so applicable to my life! Anyone in their teens or early twenties that watches Youtube videos would love this :)

Taylor Swift's New Perfume ($45)

I have done a post on Taylor's other perfumes before. I own all of her earlier releases and wear one of them every day. I have heard this one smells amazing and want to add it to my collection really bad. That bottle is gorgeous too :)

Keds ($55)

I own a large collection of Keds but I have never wanted a pair more than I want this one. I think it goes so well with my wardrobe and they are just so pretty! I know my size (9 in US sizes... Just saying!) in Keds too so it is an easy shoe addition to my list.

Taylor Swift 1989 Sweatshirt ($50)

This is the sweater that Taylor is wearing on the cover of 1989. I think it is so cute and got so excited when I found out that they sell it. Taylor is at the top of the music industry and so many people are massive fans, especially of the latest album. This is a great gift for a lot of people and I am sure they would be very excited when they opened it.

Urban Decay Naked Palette ($54)

I got the Naked 2 Palette for Christmas last year and as much as I love it I have wanted to add the Naked Palette to my makeup collection since then. I think having both of them would give me all the colors I could want! If you have a girlfriend or friend who likes makeup this (or any of the naked palettes) would be a great gift.

Those Fall Nights Sweater ($55)

I adore modcloth.com and I have had my eye on this sweater for more than a year. I think the color is gorgeous and everything I have bought off the site is great quality too. If you like vintage type things then this site is definitely for you.

James Avery Arrow Ring ($69)

I don't wear a lot of jewelry. I'm not very good accessorizing. Most of my things are just plain silver items that I can wear everyday, with anything. James Avery is my favorite place to get jewelry. I have multiple pieces from them that I wear every day. This ring is so pretty and I love the sentiment of "following your arrow".

A Kitten (~$175)

I have been dying to get a pet. I live alone and I think having a pet would really help me feel less lonely when I'm alone at my apartment. I love cats. I know that is a controversial statement but I do. I want a kitten so badly. I want a little girl and I am going to name her Kennedy. I want to get her soon but getting her as a present for Christmas would be so magical.

How I Met Your Mother Box Set ($160)

How I Met Your Mother is one of my favorite shows. I was so sad that they didn't let it get to ten seasons. I know that all nine seasons are available one Netflix but I own a lot of box sets and I just like having them better than watching them online. I think this boxset is so cool and have been waiting to get it for a long time. If you've never watched the show you should definitely give it a chance :)

Nume Titan 3 Curling Wand ($250)

I have been wanting a new curling wand for a while now and I have seen a lot of Youtubers talk about Nume's products. I think that they seem really great and there are constantly codes (try SLIEGHBELLS for 60% off their regular items or STOCKINGS for 20% off their holiday catalog... Thanks to Kayley Melissa on Youtube for the codes) to help you get their price down to less than $100, which is amazing.

Beats Headphones ($300)

I have borrowed more than one friends pair of beats, more than once, during finals to help me concentrate in a crowded library and love them. They really do completely cancel out noise and make me feel like I am completely concentrated. I just throw on some Explosions In The Sky and get things done. Any student would probably benefit from having them.

Canon Rebel T3i (~$600)

I have this far-fetched dream of starting a Youtube channel and so I have been looking at cameras a lot. I think this is the perfect camera for me to start out with. I've also always loved photography so I think I would really enjoy having this camera. It would be amazing to receive it :)

Taylor Swift 1989 Pit Tour Tickets (~$600)

My ultimate dream right now is to see Taylor Swift in concert again. I have been a fan since the release of her first single. I got to see her on her Fearless Tour when she came to Austin and it was an amazing experience. I have wanted to see every tour since. This would be the most amazing present ever.

That is it! My top 25 things on my Wishlist for Christmas. I hope it gave you some ideas for yours and for presents to buy your loved ones. Let me know what the top items on your Wishlist are in the comments below. Have a wonderful Christmas (if you don't celebrate Christmas, have a lovely holiday season) and enjoy your time with your loved ones :)
